As we know that, English is an important subject in schools of China. But recently, ourgoverment just took out a big step in Entrance Exam reform about English. The score share of English decreased from 150 to100. This made a dispute in society, and some people even think that English should be totally canceled in Entrance Exam. Personally, I don’t agree with this opinion.

No doubt that English is the most popular language in the world. With the Earth becoming smaller and smaller, people all over the world mix together and they need to communicate with a kind of language. English has been playing this role well for long time and it would play its role in the following centuries for sure. If we cancel English in Entrance Exam, how do we expect our students to learn English? If they stop learning it, how can they mix with their peers who speak English? Besides, if English exam is canceled, teachers will give little attention to English teaching, and school will arrange more time to students for learning other subjects, that,again,means English learning is canceled. So, canceling English in exam just means learning English stops in our schools, and this would result serious problem.
